Saudi Arabia-based Aajil Capital has received a Capital Market Authority (CMA) licence to conduct Managing Investments activity in the securities business, the company announced.
The sister firm of industrial financing platform Aajil has not yet started regulated activities. It must first complete the CMA’s commencement-of-business requirements.
Once operational, Aajil Capital plans to offer Shariah-compliant investment management services focused on Saudi Arabia’s industrial SME sector. Any investment fund offering would require separate CMA approval.
The firm said its investment strategy will draw on the origination infrastructure and transaction data generated by Aajil, an AI-driven platform that supplies industrial SMEs with raw materials on deferred payment terms. Aajil said it had supplied SAR 600 million ($160 million) in materials to manufacturers, contractors and traders across the Kingdom as of 31 August 2026.
Aajil Capital is chaired by Abdulla Sheikh and led by Faisal Chowdhry, its chief executive officer and chief investment officer. Chowdhry previously spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs.
The company said it will complete the CMA’s requirements before conducting any regulated activity. The licence was issued under a resolution dated 22 June 2026.
