Al Hilal Healthcare Group in Muharraq is steering student innovation toward practical application by hosting an interschool social entrepreneurship challenge. The initiative, held to mark World Hypertension Day, pushed students to develop tangible health projects and solutions, moving beyond traditional academic research.

From Theory to Application
The core objective of the challenge was to shift the focus from theoretical knowledge to real-world impact. By encouraging students to design and present workable health solutions, Al Hilal aimed to cultivate a new generation of health-tech innovators in the kingdom.
Dr. Sharat Chandran, CEO of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, highlighted the strategic vision behind the event.
“When we launched this initiative, our goal was to focus on practical solutions and applicable innovations instead of traditional academic projects,” Dr. Chandran stated. “The students have shown a remarkable level of creativity and technical execution.”
Fostering Bahrain’s Next Wave of Innovators
The event saw participation from ten schools across Bahrain, including the Bahrain Indian School, New Millennium School, Creativity Private School (Janabiyah), The Pakistan School (Isa Town), The Indian School – Bahrain, The Asian School, New Indian School, Bangladesh School – Bahrain, Quality Education School, and Modern Horizons School.
The challenge drew notable community figures, with Member of Parliament Mohammed Hussain Al Janahi attending as the guest of honor. Their presence underscored the growing local support for initiatives that bridge education with practical problem-solving in critical sectors like healthcare.
