The Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) will host Bahrain’s first Swiss fintech delegation during Fintech Forward 2026, bringing representatives from eight Swiss financial services and fintech companies to the Kingdom from October 6 to 8.
The programme is being organised with the Embassy of Switzerland to the UAE and Bahrain, Switzerland Global Enterprise and the Swiss Business Hub Middle East. It will be led by Arthur Mattli, Switzerland’s ambassador to the UAE and Bahrain.
Alongside attending FF26, the delegation will meet stakeholders including the Central Bank of Bahrain, Tamkeen, Bahrain FinTech Bay and BENEFIT. Discussions with the Central Bank will include its licensing and strategy teams, while a fintech showcase will connect the visiting companies with Bahraini industry leaders, investors and innovators.
The visit follows a June 2026 trip to Zurich and Geneva led by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of Bahrain EDB. According to the announcement, the latest programme aims to build on those discussions and explore partnerships between the Swiss and Bahraini fintech sectors.
Fintech Forward 2026, programmed by Forbes Middle East, will focus on “Finance in the Age of Intelligent Infrastructure.”
