Bitroot Ventures has launched an early-stage accelerator in Egypt aimed at helping founders move from ideas to testable minimum viable products and investment readiness.
The program will begin with a six-day Build Camp for around 50 ideas per cohort. Participants will receive free access to workspace, AI tools, hosting services, AWS and NVIDIA training, marketing budgets and business advisory support.
Around 10 startups will then enter a three-month accelerator focused on customer connections, specialised advice, professional networks and investor-pitch preparation. Five companies will be selected for investment, receiving between EGP 2.5 million and EGP 5 million each. Bitroot Ventures will take an equity stake of 10% to 14%, depending on the investment amount, according to CEO Fady Antaki.
The company plans to run two Build Camps annually, supporting about 100 ideas, accelerating 20 startups and investing in approximately 10 companies each year. It is not focused on one sector, but is prioritising businesses that use technology and artificial intelligence, drawing on a network of more than 40 mentors and advisors.
Applications are open until October 15, with the first Build Camp expected to start in the first half of November. The program is open to entrepreneurs across Egypt, although first-year participation will take place in person in Cairo. Bitroot Ventures is partnering with RiseUp on facilities, expertise and founder nominations.
