Botim Money Expands Mastercard Partnership, Offering Digital Cards Without Salary Minimums

3 Min Read

Botim money, the financial services division of the UAE-based tech platform, has expanded its multi-year strategic agreement with Mastercard to broaden access to digital payments across the country. The deepened collaboration focuses on simplifying card issuance and removing traditional barriers to entry for residents.

Quick Facts

  • Expanded multi-year strategic partnership with Mastercard.
  • Digital cards available with no minimum salary requirement.
  • Aims to support Dubai’s 90% cashless transaction goal.

Lowering the Barrier for Financial Access

A central component of the expanded partnership is making Botim money’s Mastercard-powered digital cards available without a minimum salary threshold. This move directly addresses a significant portion of the UAE’s diverse resident base, aiming to increase financial inclusion by providing more users with access to everyday digital payment tools.

Building on a two-year collaboration, the new agreement establishes a long-term roadmap for enhancing the digital card experience and introducing new financial services over time.

“With card payments being part of everyday life for people living and working in the UAE, access needs to be reliable and inclusive by design,” said Dr. Tariq Bin Hendi, Board Member at Astra Tech and CEO of Botim. “This expanded strategic collaboration with Mastercard strengthens our ability to provide reliable, digital-first payment experiences to a broader segment of residents, while giving us a long-term platform to keep improving the card proposition over time.”

Aligning with Dubai’s Cashless Vision

This initiative directly supports Dubai’s Cashless Strategy, which targets making cashless transactions account for 90% of all transactions by the end of 2026. By widening eligibility for its digital card program, Botim money positions itself as a key contributor to the city’s payments modernization efforts.

“Our deepened strategic agreement with botim money reflects Mastercard’s commitment to secure, scalable, and future-ready payment solutions,” commented Gina Petersen-Skyrme, SVP & Country Manager for UAE and Oman at Mastercard. “By combining our global network with botim money’s digital platform, we’re enabling seamless payment experiences built on trust.”
