Digital Egypt Innovation Hubs and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Egypt’s IT Industry Development Agency have announced 85 winning projects from an artificial intelligence hackathon held across 17 governorates from August 16 to 20.
More than 15,000 students and graduates applied to the competition, which was organised with Orange Digital Center and the Instant educational platform. The programme aimed to help young participants use AI tools to develop practical solutions for market needs.
The hackathon included intensive theoretical and hands-on training covering large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, data and text embeddings, specialised databases, and the design of reliable AI applications.
Five projects were selected in each governorate from 300 participating projects, based on evaluations of the submitted solutions and their use of AI technologies. Winners received certificates, a one-year Instant subscription and access to partner programmes supporting digital skills development.
The initiative is part of Egypt’s efforts to build youth digital capabilities, encourage innovation and expand practical training in advanced technology. Activities took place in hubs across cities including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza?
