Dubai Entrepreneurs Hub, a joint initiative by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, has wrapped up the first phase of its accelerator programs with global innovation platform Plug and Play, delivering tangible results by connecting local startups with major corporate partners and slashing partnership timelines.
Quick Facts
- 23 startups participated in the 100-day program.
- 36 proof-of-concept opportunities were generated.
- 3 startups successfully signed partnership agreements.
From POC to Partnership in 100 Days
The accelerator program brought together 23 startups founded by Emiratis and UAE residents with five major corporate partners, including DHL, du, Emirates Flight Catering, talabat, and Visa. The initiative’s core success was compressing partnership cycles that typically take over 12 months into a three-month timeframe, with some startups moving from initial introduction to signed agreements within the program’s duration.
Out of 36 proof-of-concept (POC) opportunities created, 15 projects advanced to late-stage evaluation, with three culminating in formal commercial collaborations. The program was designed to directly address the business challenges of its corporate partners, enabling startups to move efficiently from initial contact to serious commercial discussions.
Corporate Giants Tap Local Innovation
The collaboration produced immediate, real-world solutions. Emirates Flight Catering partnered with cohort member Metis ESG to develop and deploy a custom ESG dashboard that provides real-time insights across its global supply chain.
In another key partnership, talabat teamed up with Retail Hub to launch a regional retail solution designed to reduce stockouts by improving demand forecasting. These examples show a rapid shift from experimentation to enterprise-level application, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness in bridging the gap between emerging tech and corporate needs.
The programs concluded with a demo day, where founders showcased their solutions to investors, corporate leaders, and other ecosystem stakeholders, highlighting successful partnerships across finance, logistics, telecom, and retail.
Hadi Badri, CEO of the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, commented, “By directly connecting startups with corporate and regulatory decision-makers, we are fast-tracking the deployment of solutions and creating clear pathways for growth and expansion. The results we see today demonstrate how Dubai is institutionalizing innovation.”
Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, added, “The program embodies our firm commitment to developing effective business pathways for startups by enhancing their access to customers, corporates, and investors.”
A New Blueprint for Global Accelerators
The initiative also provided participating startups with over 80 hours of mentorship, investor networking opportunities, and tailored workshops on market entry, product-market fit, and growth strategies.
Saeed Amidi, Founder and CEO of Plug and Play, stated, “We are proud of the tangible results from the first batch of these programs. These outcomes place the Hub’s accelerator among our top-performing programs globally—a remarkable achievement for a new program and further proof of the power of collaboration between government, corporations, and startups in Dubai.”
Building on this initial success, Dubai Entrepreneurs Hub plans to expand its sector-specific programs through new strategic partnerships, aiming to embed innovation as a core component of the emirate’s economic model.
