Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Hussein Issa, met with the board of the Egyptian Investors Union, chaired by Moharam Helal, to discuss improving the investment environment and supporting private-sector activity.
According to the announcement, the meeting focused on maintaining regular dialogue between the government and business organisations, addressing challenges facing investors and improving Egypt’s business competitiveness. The two sides reviewed measures to support investment across several sectors, including industry, tourism and hotels, digital transformation, technical education, and small and medium-sized businesses. Union representatives also presented proposals on easing business procedures and improving the investment climate.
The meeting also covered the role of Egypt’s Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship in supporting startups, fostering innovation and helping entrepreneurs scale their businesses. The initiative is intended to strengthen the startup ecosystem and support job creation, according to the announcement.
Union members welcomed the meeting, saying continued dialogue with the government could help address obstacles to investment and strengthen private-sector growth.
