Egypt’s Ministry of Local Development and Environment joined the Climate-Tech Expo in Cairo, bringing together 42 Egyptian climate-tech startups with investors, companies and government officials from Egypt, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with the Private Sector Innovation (PSI) project and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Egypt, with funding from the German government.
According to the announcement, discussions focused on low-emission mobility, industrial transformation, agri-tech and food systems, digital tools for industry, environmental monitoring, waste and the circular economy, and renewable energy.
The ministry said the expo was designed to connect startups with investors, private-sector partners and government bodies. The discussions also explored funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, pilot projects and ways to scale climate solutions.
Participating startups presented their technologies during dedicated sessions, roundtables and direct meetings with investors and companies. The format was intended to help move climate innovations from early-stage concepts toward practical, scalable applications while supporting Egypt’s transition to a more sustainable economy.
The ministry said stronger collaboration between startups, investors and the private sector could support emissions reduction and more efficient resource use.
