Egyptian startup ParlexAI has joined the sixth cohort of the Visa Africa FinTech Accelerator, which launched in Accra, Ghana, with 21 fintech companies from nine African countries operating across 24 markets.
The cohort includes startups working on stablecoins, agentic commerce, sustainable finance, payments and financial infrastructure. Companies from Niger, Togo and Seychelles are participating for the first time, according to the announcement.
ParlexAI develops artificial intelligence solutions for financial institutions and businesses, with a focus on improving customer engagement. The company said it plans to use the accelerator’s mentorship, expertise and network to build partnerships with banks, fintechs and other financial institutions across Africa.
The three-month hybrid program includes an introductory week, 10 weeks of online sessions, an investor week and a Demo Day connecting startups with investors and venture capital funds. It is open to Seed- and Series A-stage companies with a working product.
Participants receive training in product design, marketing, finance and sales, as well as access to experts, partners and service providers. The program also offers potential funding from Visa, Plug and Play and investors taking part in Demo Day.
ParlexAI co-founder and CEO Mohamed Mohsen said the company’s selection reflects its position at the intersection of AI and fintech, and its ambition to expand beyond Egypt into African financial markets.
