Egypt’s Tax Authority is preparing to launch a “White List” for highly tax-compliant taxpayers, offering faster services and other incentives as part of a new package aimed at encouraging voluntary compliance.
According to the announcement, eligibility will be determined automatically using predefined, objective and risk-based criteria, without human intervention. Selected taxpayers will receive expedited VAT refunds, certificates of appreciation, honorary awards and priority access to services including the Advance Ruling Unit and Investor Support Unit. They will also have access to a dedicated hotline.
Those included will receive a Tax Excellence Card in one of three categories: Platinum, Gold or Silver. The Egyptian Tax Authority said the selected taxpayers will be announced and honored at the upcoming “Thank You 2” Conference.
The authority also plans to introduce a mobile application for real estate transactions. The app will allow individuals to upload documents, calculate property disposal tax, pay electronically, obtain a tax clearance certificate and track applications without visiting tax offices.
ETA Head Rasha Abdel Aal said the measures support the authority’s broader digital transformation strategy and follow directives from Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk to simplify procedures and improve services for compliant taxpayers.
