Fayoum University in Egypt has launched “Who Gets the Cup,” a competition featuring around 40 student projects focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and applied solutions.
Organized by the university’s TAYCO Office in partnership with the General Department for Student Welfare, the competition was held at the university’s Central Library. It aims to help students develop innovative ideas into viable projects, according to the announcement.
The participating projects cover a range of fields, including natural oils designed to support hair and skin care and relieve pain, relaxation candles, cybersecurity and nanotechnology applications. Other projects focus on services for people with disabilities and medical solutions for patients.
Sanaa Haroun, executive director of the university’s TAYCO and Entrepreneurship Office, said the competition is intended to encourage students to develop practical responses to different challenges while building their research, development and entrepreneurial capabilities.
Projects that qualify will move to the next stage in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. If they reach the final stage, the teams will compete in Geneva, Switzerland, giving students an opportunity to present their innovations in later rounds.
