Google is expanding AI Mode beyond conversational search with new tools for tracking flight prices, booking hotels and viewing travel costs in points or miles.
Users can describe where and when they want to fly, and AI Mode will show current options and prices from more than 300 airlines and travel sites. They can also ask the tool to monitor fares and receive an email when prices change. Flight price tracking is now available in more than 180 countries.
AI Mode can also help users find hotels based on their trip details and preferences, with listings that include reviews and key information. Once users choose a property, they can continue to an integrated partner to select a room, review cancellation terms and complete payment through Google Pay. The hotel or booking platform remains responsible for the booking and customer service, Google said.
Hotel booking has started rolling out in the US in English and will expand over the coming weeks through partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott International and Trip.com.
Google also said AI Mode can now show the points or miles required for eligible flights and hotels. That feature is available globally.
