Google is rolling out conversational AI tools for Gmail, Docs and Keep, allowing users to ask questions, dictate content and complete tasks using natural-language prompts.
The features, called Gmail Live, Docs Live and Keep Live, were previewed at Google I/O in May. Gmail Live lets users ask a Gemini-powered assistant questions about their inbox instead of using the search bar. A live transcript appears during the conversation.
In Docs, users can describe what they want to create and receive a first draft. The assistant can also draw information from Gmail, Drive, Chat and the web when preparing content.
Keep Live works as a voice-based scratchpad. Users can dictate notes and ask the tool to create items such as recipes or shopping lists, including a list of ingredients for shakshuka.
Gmail Live is available to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live and Keep Live are available to Pro and Ultra users. The features will launch in English on iOS and Android. Google said they will soon be available to Workplace Business customers.
The rollout follows other voice-focused updates across Google’s products, including cross-app dictation for its Mac app, the Gemini-powered Rambler dictation tool on Pixel 11 smartphones and the Gemini 3.5 Transcribe model for speech-to-text applications.
