The HEYA project has started entrepreneurship training for Jordanian and Syrian women in Tafilah, aiming to help them turn innovative home-based businesses into sustainable, scalable ventures.
Funded by the European Union and running from 2025 to 2027, the project is being implemented through a partnership that includes the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, Araga Tafilah Charity Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Charity Association. Training sessions in Tafilah are focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and practical business skills.
Across Ajloun, Jerash, Amman and Tafilah, around 970 women have attended introductory and awareness sessions, while more than 450 have participated in basic entrepreneurship training, according to the announcement.
The next stages will include advanced entrepreneurship and technical training, the selection of promising projects, management of startup grants, and support for market access. The project also plans to strengthen civil society organisations and business-support institutions and connect them with women entrepreneurs.
The organisers said the initiative is intended to improve women’s economic opportunities, strengthen local organisations and support the development of viable businesses in Jordan.
