Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund-backed AI company HUMAIN and data centre operator DataVolt have broken ground on a 100MW facility at Oxagon, NEOM, marking the first stage of a planned 360MW computing campus.
The initial capacity is expected to go live in 2028 and will support complex AI workloads for domestic and global enterprise customers, according to the announcement. The broader campus is planned as the foundation for a 1.5GW development.
The facility will use renewable energy, advanced cooling systems and high-density server clusters designed for large language models and demanding cloud workloads. Its location within NEOM’s industrial hub also provides access to subsea cables linking Europe and Africa.
The project follows a strategic framework signed by HUMAIN and DataVolt in November 2025, which targeted a multi-gigawatt pipeline for AI computing infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The Oxagon buildout brings that broader plan into construction, with HUMAIN acting as the master planner for the kingdom’s national AI compute requirements.
The development comes as demand grows for data centre capacity and power to run increasingly intensive AI applications.
