4 Min Read

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a cooperation protocol with global IT services giant DXC Technology to launch the ITIDA–DXC Dandelion Program in Egypt. This initiative marks the program’s first introduction in the Middle East and Africa, strategically supporting Egypt’s vision for an inclusive and digitally empowered society.

The signing took place in the presence of H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and H.E. Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity. The protocol was jointly signed by Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, and Eng. Neveen Galal, Chairwoman of DXC Technology Egypt.

Empowering Neurodiverse Talent in Critical Tech Domains

The core objective of the ITIDA–DXC Dandelion Program is to expand inclusive digital-skilling pathways by empowering neurodiverse youth—individuals with neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, or dyslexia—with in-demand digital competencies. Neurodiverse individuals often exhibit unique strengths in pattern recognition, attention to detail, and analytical thinking, making them highly valuable assets in certain technology roles.

The comprehensive two-year program is structured to provide specialized support and training across critical technology domains:

  • Advanced Digital Skills: Training will cover high-value areas, including AI, software testing, data analytics, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Holistic Development: Participants will receive specialized technical training alongside soft-skills development and continuous coaching to support their overall professional and social growth.
  • Workforce Integration: The ultimate goal is to support the full, seamless integration of participants into the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) workforce.

With over 60 participants set to benefit from this initial phase, the program directly addresses the need for specialized skills while promoting social inclusion.

Strengthening Egypt’s Position as a Global Tech Hub

This partnership reflects ITIDA’s commitment to strengthening Egypt’s competitive edge in the global IT and offshoring services market. By tapping into the unique talents of neurodiverse individuals, Egypt can cultivate a more diverse, innovative, and future-ready workforce.

The Dandelion Program is internationally recognized for unlocking potential in the neurodiverse community and turning those unique abilities into a competitive advantage for technology firms. Its launch in Egypt reinforces the country’s strategic vision of building a robust digital economy and positioning itself as a leading global hub for high-quality, inclusive IT services.
