The Green Forward program officially launched its support for Jordanian Business Support Organizations (BSOs) with a major international conference in Amman on August 5, 2025. The event marked the start of the program’s mission to empower BSOs as key enablers of Jordan’s transition towards a green and circular economy.

A National Platform for a Green Transition
Held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Muawieh Radaideh, Minister of Environment, the conference brought together a wide range of stakeholders to lay the foundation for stronger cooperation in industrial innovation and sustainability. The event featured a keynote address from the Minister of Environment and a panel discussion on “Green Finance & Circular Economy Opportunities in Jordan,” which underscored how coordinated action across policy, finance, and industry can unlock investment and accelerate Jordan’s green transition.
A New Cohort of Green Enablers
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of the 11 selected Jordanian BSOs that will benefit from the program’s comprehensive support. This includes tailored mentoring for 8 BSOs that are transitioning towards green practices, while 3 advanced green BSOs will take part in a regional Green Business Training Academy.
About the Green Forward Program
The Green Forward programme is a strategic initiative funded by the European Union and implemented at the meso-level by SPARK, in partnership with the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) and its Center of Energy and Environmental Sustainability in the Industry (CEESI). The program is part of a larger consortium that includes Expertise France and UNIDO.
Looking Ahead
The Green Forward conference and workshop have laid the foundation for a more resilient and innovative green economy in Jordan. By equipping BSOs with the tools, skills, and networks needed to lead change, the program is set to contribute to a wider regional transition, fostering sustainable development and creating new economic opportunities.
