King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in KSA has introduced smart heart failure monitoring technology that enables continuous remote patient monitoring, earlier intervention and more data-informed clinical decisions.
The system is designed to help clinicians identify signs of deterioration sooner, potentially reducing the risk of emergency hospital admissions. It also allows care teams to monitor patients remotely, reducing reliance on routine in-person visits and helping them prioritise those at greater risk.
The initiative reflects KSA’s wider digital healthcare transformation under Vision 2030, which prioritises digital innovation, preventive care and more connected healthcare delivery. Hospitals across the Kingdom are adopting technologies including artificial intelligence, connected medical devices, electronic health records, telemedicine and remote monitoring platforms.
Wearables, sensors and cloud-based systems can provide clinicians with real-time health data to support faster diagnosis, personalised treatment plans and improved coordination between healthcare providers and patients. AI-powered analysis can also help identify trends that may signal worsening conditions, according to the announcement.
KAMC’s deployment highlights the growing role of digital tools in managing chronic diseases and shifting care from a reactive model toward more proactive and preventive treatment.
