Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, opened the fifth edition of LEAP in Riyadh, announcing technology launches and investments worth more than $15 billion.
The minister said the event would feature major announcements across artificial intelligence and technology. The investments come from global partners, with companies including AMD, NVIDIA, xAI, Cisco, Qualcomm, AWS and Humain expanding their activities in the Kingdom.
Al-Swaha said Saudi Arabia is seeking a larger role in the AI economy by building out the land, energy and connectivity needed to support computing infrastructure. By 2030, the Kingdom aims to operate more than 20 connectivity cables, provide over 12 gigawatts of capacity and allocate around 80 square kilometers for AI-related infrastructure and computing centers.
LEAP 2026 runs for four days at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham. The event includes 16 stages and more than 20 content tracks covering AI, advanced computing, mobility, gaming, sports and emerging technologies.
According to the announcement, more than 1,000 investors representing over 900 companies are participating, with combined assets of approximately $14.3 trillion. The event is organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, and Tahaluf.
