MoneyHash Partners with South Africa’s Ozow to Expand Local Payment Options

MoneyHash has partnered with South African fintech Ozow to expand access to local payment methods for businesses operating in or entering South Africa, strengthening its payment infrastructure across Africa.

Announced on October 14, the partnership enables businesses using MoneyHash to connect to Ozow through their existing integration, without building and maintaining a separate technical connection. The integration allows merchants to offer additional local payment options while managing their broader payment operations through a single platform.

Expanding South Africa’s Digital Payments Ecosystem

The partnership brings together MoneyHash’s payment orchestration infrastructure and Ozow’s established presence in South Africa’s digital payments market.

Ozow offers a range of payment capabilities, including pay-by-bank, card payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, instant payouts and withdrawals, voucher payments, and cryptocurrency payments.

By integrating Ozow into its platform, MoneyHash aims to help merchants accommodate different customer payment preferences while reducing the technical and operational complexity of managing multiple payment providers.

“Having worked within South Africa’s payments ecosystem, I’ve seen both how quickly the market has evolved and the complexity businesses face as they scale their payment operations,” said Hwan Lee, Regional Director for Africa at MoneyHash.

Catherine Korsten, Chief Growth Officer at Ozow, said the partnership provides another way for merchants to access Ozow’s services while simplifying the integration and management of multiple payment solutions.

Supporting MoneyHash’s African Expansion

The agreement forms part of MoneyHash’s broader strategy to expand its payment infrastructure across Africa by integrating established local providers and making market-specific payment capabilities more accessible.

The partnership also follows MoneyHash’s appointment of Hwan Lee as Regional Director for Africa. Lee previously held a leadership role at Ozow, bringing experience and knowledge of South Africa’s payments ecosystem to MoneyHash’s regional expansion.

Through its unified infrastructure, MoneyHash enables businesses to manage payment routing, transactions and reporting across providers. The company aims to help international merchants enter new markets more efficiently while giving local businesses greater flexibility as they scale.

Founded in 2014, Ozow provides digital payment solutions to South African consumers and businesses. MoneyHash operates a payment orchestration platform that connects multiple payment gateways through a single API, supporting businesses expanding across emerging and global markets.
