Oman’s Entrepreneurship Centre in Nizwa is supporting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises with advisory services, training and workspace designed to help businesses move from early ideas to growth and expansion.
The centre opened on March 14, 2025, according to Issa bin Saleh Al Subaihi, director of SME development at the Authority for SME Development (Riyada) in Al Dakhiliyah. He said its role extends beyond early-stage incubation to include ongoing support, market connections and links with relevant organisations.
The centre has 24 enclosed and open workspaces, as well as an interactive meeting room and training rooms. Its services are organised across three stages: pre-incubation, which covers idea assessment, planning and business model development; incubation, which includes training, mentoring, consulting, marketing, networking and access to financing opportunities; and post-incubation support focused on follow-up, expansion and market access.
Since opening, the centre has delivered consultations, training programmes and workshops, while hosting government and private-sector visits. These activities have led to agreements between incubated businesses and private companies in areas including consulting, urban design, photography and artificial intelligence programmes.
Located at the entrance to Nizwa’s historic Al Aqr neighbourhood, the centre is part of Riyada’s efforts to strengthen Oman’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and help local businesses improve their competitiveness.
