Oman Expands Entrepreneurial Support with New Center in Al Dhahirah Governorate

Oman’s startup ecosystem has received a significant boost with the inauguration of a new Entrepreneurship Center in the Wilayat of Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate. The new facility is an initiative by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) and aims to provide a comprehensive support system for entrepreneurs and SMEs in the region.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Taher bin Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Governor of Al Dhahirah, and attended by H.E. Halima bint Rashid Al Zari’yah, Chairperson of Riyada.

A Hub for Innovation and Growth

Fadel bin Salem Al Saidi, Director of the SME Development Department in Al Dhahirah Governorate, stated that the center represents a major step in fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurship. It is designed to provide integrated support to SMEs through co-working spaces and an incubation environment, enabling founders to transform their ideas into successful ventures.

The facility will act as a launchpad for innovative ideas that can contribute to economic diversification and sustainable development. It targets SMEs and emerging projects across various sectors, including technology, services, and small-scale industries.

Comprehensive Services for Startups

The center will offer a full suite of services tailored to the needs of growing businesses. These include modern office spaces, mentorship and guidance programs, and valuable training and networking opportunities with investors and industry experts.

Furthermore, entrepreneurs will have access to crucial technical, administrative, and financial consulting services, along with opportunities to secure funding to support their growth and market expansion.

Driving Oman’s Vision 2040

The launch of the Ibri Entrepreneurship Center is a strategic move that aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build a diversified and sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation.

Al Saidi highlighted that the center will play a key role in creating new job opportunities, driving innovation, and enhancing the role of youth in national economic development. It is positioned to become a central platform for creativity, contributing to local economic growth and strengthening the entrepreneurial landscape in the governorate.
