Oman’s General Directorate of Education in North Al Batinah has announced the winners of the Rekaz Entrepreneurship Award, an initiative designed to cultivate innovation and business skills among school students across the country. The ceremony, held under the theme “With my project, I build my nation,” celebrated the final 32 projects selected from an initial pool of over 500 submissions from seven different governorates.

From 500+ Ideas to 32 Finalists
The competition drew a massive response from young innovators, with student teams from North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, and North Al Sharqiyah participating.
“The award is the culmination of a student-led entrepreneurial journey aimed at developing a culture of innovation and strengthening entrepreneurship skills,” said Ali bin Saeed Al Maqbali, Head of the Technical Supervision Department at the North Al Batinah education directorate. He explained that the projects underwent a multi-stage evaluation process, including initial filtering at the governorate level before advancing to the national finals, giving students a platform to present their ideas to specialized judging committees.
Building a Knowledge-Based Economy
The initiative aligns with Oman’s national push towards building a sustainable and renewable knowledge-based economy. According to organizers, the award targets several strategic goals, including fostering a spirit of initiative and self-reliance among students. It also aims to familiarize them with the fundamentals of creating and managing businesses, applying small and medium-sized enterprise concepts, and building effective entrepreneurial teams.
The closing ceremony featured an exhibition where the 32 finalist teams showcased their products and business ideas.

Entrepreneurial Ideas
- First Place: “Saafo-om” from Haneen Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
- Second Place: “Smart Pool” from Jifr bin Al Julanda Basic Education School (Al Dakhiliyah).
- Third Place: “Rbord” from Al-Asma Bint Al-Harith Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
Technical & Digital Projects
- First Place: “Store 3D” from Al-Harith bin Malik Basic Education School (Al Dakhiliyah).
- Second Place: “Nova Store” from Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Ghafri Basic Education School (Al Dhahirah).
- Third Place: “Kernets” from Al-Safa Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
Craft Projects
- First Place: “Danat Al-Nakheel” from Umm Atiyah Al-Ansariyah Basic Education School (Al Dhahirah).
- Second Place: “Hikaytak” from Umm Sulaim Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
- Third Place: “Korsht” from Sumaya Basic Education School (North Al Sharqiyah).
Diverse Entrepreneurial Projects
- First Place: “Crystal” from Al-Safa Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
- Second Place: “Shahd Baytoti” from Safiyya bint Abd al-Muttalib Basic Education School (North Al Batinah).
- Third Place: “Rosa” from Kahnat Basic Education School (Al Dhahirah).
