Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has doubled the venture capital fund managed by its investment arm, Oraseya Capital, to $272.3M (AED 1B) from $136.2M (AED 500M).
The expansion raises Oraseya’s maximum investment per company to $6M, up from $3M, allowing it to participate in larger funding rounds and support companies beyond Series B. The fund will also consider international businesses with relevance to the UAE, alongside its existing focus on companies connected to the country.
Oraseya Capital currently has 66 active portfolio companies. According to the announcement, the portfolio has raised a combined $1.1B and generated $387M in annual recurring revenue.
The fund will prioritise emerging technologies including healthcare and longevity, fintech, digital assets and artificial intelligence. Its existing portfolio also spans proptech, media and advertising, marketing technology, sustainability, digital commerce and edtech.
The move supports Dubai’s D33 economic agenda and is intended to help companies scale into regional and global markets. The announcement did not specify how the expanded fund will be allocated across investment stages, sectors or geographies.
