Qatar’s Digital Payment Value Rises 40% to QR106.8B in July 2026

Qatar’s electronic payment transactions reached QR106.814 billion in July 2026, up 40% from QR76.051 billion a year earlier, according to official data from the Qatar Central Bank.

Overall transaction volume across the country’s payment infrastructure increased 23% year on year to 72.487 million transactions.

Account-to-account transfer system Tahweel was the main growth driver. Transaction value rose 63% to QR77.051 billion, while transfer volumes jumped 170% to 4.233 million. Transfer systems accounted for 78.9% of total electronic payment value, compared with 66.8% in July 2025.

Instant payment platform Fawran recorded a 108% increase in both transaction value and volume, reaching QR6.802 billion and 3.888 million transactions respectively. Registered Fawran accounts totaled 3.918 million.

Mobile wallet transaction value grew 67% to QR461.664 million, while volume rose 183% to 907,452 transactions. Registered wallets reached 1.474 million.

Card payment volumes increased 15% to 63.459 million, although total value fell 11% to QR22.499 billion. ATM withdrawals also declined, pointing to a broader shift toward digital payments in Qatar.
