The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has launched the Digital District initiative as part of efforts to position the Saudi capital as a global center for technology talent, digital creativity and entrepreneurship.
The initiative is designed to attract specialized companies, skills and investment across six areas: artificial intelligence and big data, cybersecurity, cloud computing and services, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and robotics and drones.
According to the announcement, the Digital District will create an integrated business environment for technology companies, talent and investors, supporting the growth of Riyadh’s digital economy and a broader knowledge-based economy.
Ibrahim Al-Sultan, minister of state and CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, said the initiative aims to make Riyadh a global destination for technology companies, talent and digital entrepreneurship. He also said it supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals around economic diversification, digital leadership and technology innovation.
The commission said the initiative also aims to help place Riyadh among the world’s top 10 technology regions.
