Saudi Arabia has achieved 93% of the targets set under its Vision 2030 programs and strategies, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman said during the opening of the Shura Council’s new session.

The announcement highlighted the Kingdom’s shift toward a more diversified economy, with non-oil exports up 155% since 2016 and the private sector’s contribution reaching 51%, according to a Saudi Press Agency report.

The next phase will focus on building competitive domestic industries, increasing local content and attracting investment. The Public Investment Fund has started implementing its strategy for the next five years, working with the private sector to develop national sectors and generate sustainable returns. The National Development Fund is also providing annual financing to support strategic industries.

Technology remains central to the agenda. Saudi Arabia ranked first in the Digital Readiness Framework, the ICT Development Index and a cybersecurity indicator, while placing second in the GovTech Maturity Index, the Crown Prince said.

The government has also designated 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence, with plans to expand AI applications, improve public services, raise productivity and develop local talent. The broader economic policy will continue to support promising sectors and direct investment toward areas with the greatest economic and social impact.
