3 Min Read

Saudi Arabia’s delivery market has kicked off 2026 with explosive growth, recording over 118 million orders in the first quarter, according to a new report from the Transport General Authority (TGA). This represents a significant 49% increase compared to the same period in the previous year, highlighting a major acceleration in the Kingdom’s digital economy and logistics infrastructure.

Quick Facts

  • Over 118 million orders placed in Q1 2026.
  • Represents a 49% year-on-year growth.
  • Riyadh region captured 44% of total orders.

Tech and E-commerce Fueling the Boom

The surge in delivery activity is not accidental. The TGA attributes the growth to a combination of factors transforming the sector. The increased adoption of technology solutions by delivery platforms, coupled with the continued expansion of e-commerce, is creating a more robust and accessible market for consumers.

Furthermore, the implementation of more efficient operating models by delivery companies is improving service quality and enhancing the overall customer experience, which in turn is driving higher demand and order frequency.

Riyadh Dominates as Services Expand Kingdom-Wide

The capital city remains the epicenter of Saudi Arabia’s delivery market. The TGA’s statistical report revealed that the Riyadh region accounted for the largest share of transactions, claiming a substantial 44% of all orders.

The Makkah region followed with 22.21% of the total, while the Eastern Province secured the third spot with 16.23%. The data also indicates a broadening of delivery services beyond the major urban centers, with regions like Madinah (4.97%), Asir (3.34%), and Qassim (2.77%) showing healthy activity. This wider distribution reflects the successful expansion of logistics networks across the various regions of the Kingdom.
