Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with venture capital firm STV to support startups developing artificial intelligence and emerging technology solutions for government services.

According to the announcement, STV is targeting investments of up to SAR500 million in promising companies emerging from innovation centre programs. The initiative is designed to connect startups with real challenges and technology needs across government entities.

The partnership will support proof-of-concept trials in a secure government innovation environment, giving startups an opportunity to test their products before wider deployment. Solutions that demonstrate value could then be expanded across the government sector.

The agreement also includes attracting and incubating promising startups, helping them develop solutions that are better aligned with public-sector requirements. The collaboration brings together access to government needs, product testing, potential scale-up opportunities and investment support.

The partnership comes as Saudi Arabia increases its use of AI and emerging digital technologies in government services and operations. The announcement said the collaboration aims to turn startup innovation into practical solutions for the Saudi public sector while strengthening the country’s government innovation ecosystem.
