Saudi Healthtech Amplifai Health Launches AI Thermal Platform for Athletes in Miami

3 Min Read

Riyadh-based healthtech company Amplifai Health has launched NUR, a new thermal intelligence platform using AI to monitor athlete recovery and readiness. The US launch in Miami marks the company’s strategic expansion from clinical healthcare into the global sports performance market.

Quick Facts

  • Launches NUR, an AI thermal platform for athletes.
  • Expands from diabetic care into sports technology.
  • Initial rollout with select partners in the US.

From Clinical Care to the Playing Field

Amplifai Health first established its technology with TFscan, an AI-powered thermal imaging tool for diabetic foot screening. The product, which is approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), has seen significant success in Saudi Arabia. In deployments with the Ministry of Health, TFscan achieved up to an 80% reduction in treatment costs associated with diabetic foot complications and increased screening capacity by 12 times without a proportional rise in specialist staff.

With NUR, Amplifai is applying this proven thermal-AI engine to a new commercial vertical. The platform translates surface temperature patterns into visual data, helping athletes and performance staff make informed decisions about training, recovery, and when to return to play. This move takes the company from a heavily regulated medical device market into the more consumer-driven world of sports and wellness.

Strategic US Launch and Early Partnerships

The NUR platform was officially launched in Miami, Florida, and is accessible through a smart mirror, tablet, mobile, and web applications.

For its initial rollout, access is limited to a select group of early partners. Amplifai Health is collaborating with Pinecrest Physical Therapy, a sports rehabilitation provider in South Florida and the Caribbean, to deploy the platform. The company is inviting clinics, teams, universities, and performance organizations to register their interest ahead of a wider release.

Backed by Top VCs and Global Recognition

Amplifai Health’s expansion is supported by a strong investor base that includes Wa’ed Ventures, Plug and Play, KAUST Innovation, Techstars, and Lamarka.

The company’s work in applied AI was recently recognized by the World Economic Forum, which accepted Amplifai into its MINDS programme. This places the Saudi startup in a cohort with global organizations like Siemens, Lenovo, Sanofi, and KPMG, all noted for deploying AI with measurable real-world outcomes.
