UAE investors Shorooq and Presight have participated in a $100M Series A for California-based Maven Robotics, backing the company’s expansion of autonomous robots for logistics and manufacturing.

The investment was made through the Presight Shorooq AI and Bedaya Funds, managed by Shorooq. RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures also joined the round.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Santa Clara, Maven builds wheeled, dual-armed robots for industrial tasks. The company has begun deploying its systems at customer sites for mixed-case palletizing and container handling. According to the investment announcement, the robots can operate for up to 16 hours a day, with reliability exceeding 99%.

Maven plans to build 250 third-generation robots while developing a fourth-generation platform. The new funding will support production and help broaden the robots’ applications beyond palletizing and tote handling into wider materials-handling operations.

The deal gives Shorooq and Presight exposure to “physical AI,” where intelligent systems interact directly with industrial environments. Presight, an Abu Dhabi-based applied AI company and a G42 company, is expected to contribute AI expertise and potential access to computing capabilities, data and enterprise relationships across the G42 ecosystem.

The investment also connects Abu Dhabi’s technology investment network with a US robotics company scaling commercial automation solutions.
