In a continuous effort to bolster the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial landscape, StartUp Bahrain, the nation’s leading platform for emerging enterprises, has announced the winners of its 20th StartUp Bahrain Pitch event. The competition, supported by the Labour Fund Tamkeen in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and the Bahrain Development Bank, aims to inspire innovation and empower the next generation of Bahraini entrepreneurs.
A Spotlight On Healthy Food Innovation
The event showcased a diverse range of Bahraini startups, with a notable focus on the health and wellness sector. After a competitive round of pitches, “Dona’s Wonders,” a brand specializing in gluten-free and keto-friendly dishes and pastries, was awarded first place. Securing the second-place position was “You’re Nuts,” a startup producing natural nut butters free from additives and preservatives. Other participants included Esbitar, a mobile healthcare provider delivering medical services to patients’ homes, and Herbal Mama, a plant-based, chemical-free haircare brand.
Esteemed Judging Panel
The competing startups were evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts and investors from across the MENA ecosystem. The judging committee included Abe Seksek, Partner at Sekuity Ventures; Ghassan Halawa, Founder and CEO of Parachute 16; Laith Al Khalili, Associate Director at Mumtalakat; and Safa Sharif, a board member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) in Bahrain.

The winners expressed their gratitude for the platform and the opportunities it provides. Dona Maria of “Dona’s Wonders” commented, “This victory marks a pivotal milestone in our startup’s journey, as it will positively impact our aspirations and help us achieve our future goals for continued growth and excellence.”
Ali Albasri from “You’re Nuts” added, “Participating in StartUp Bahrain Pitch was an inspiring experience that gave us the opportunity to connect with a distinguished group of entrepreneurs, mentors and industry experts. This has opened new horizons for the growth and development of our startup.” This initiative aligns directly with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities, which are focused on enhancing the competitiveness of Bahrainis and supporting enterprise growth, digitization, and sustainability.
