Suez Canal University has concluded its Innovation Week for the Canal and Sinai region by announcing the results of the final stage of the Egypt Cities Hackathon.
The event focused on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship while encouraging young people to develop practical responses to social and urban challenges. The university said it was designed to connect students and researchers with training, academic mentoring and hands-on opportunities.
The programme included three specialised workshops and a panel discussion covering future universities, technology-driven skills, links between academic innovation and industry, and the role of technology transfer in helping graduates enter the labour market.
University officials also called for the event to expand in future years into a nationwide programme involving universities across Egypt, with a broader focus on applied research and projects aligned with development needs. The activities were organised under the supervision of Suez Canal University’s leadership and its Entrepreneurship Club.
