Syrian IT services company Ultimate-STC has signed a significant contract with the Syrian Arab Organization for Standardization and Metrology (SASM) to lead the agency’s full-scale digital transformation. The deal aims to automate the government body’s operations, improve service delivery, and enhance the competitiveness of Syrian national products through a more efficient digital framework.

Quick Facts

  • Contract signed for comprehensive digital transformation.
  • Focus on automating services for citizens and industry.
  • Goal is to boost national product competitiveness.
  • Includes a unified “single window” digital platform.

Overhauling Bureaucracy with a Unified Digital Platform

The agreement, signed at SASM’s headquarters, marks a strategic move to modernize the agency’s institutional workflow. The project will overhaul traditional processes by developing a unified electronic system connecting all of the organization’s directorates, aligning with the Syrian government’s broader administrative and digital modernization goals.

Dr. Yasser Aliwi, Director General of SASM, stated that the initiative is a strategic milestone. He emphasized that the project goes beyond simply introducing new technology, aiming instead to establish a new phase of institutional work built on automation, speed, and transparency.

“Digital transformation will simplify procedures and reduce service delivery times,” Aliwi noted. He added that the system will improve data reliability and create greater integration between directorates, directly impacting the quality of services for both citizens and industrial players.

A Single Window for Syrian Industry

A key feature of the new platform will be a “single window” service. This will allow individuals and businesses to submit and track transactions electronically from any governorate, eliminating the need to travel between different directorates and cutting through administrative red tape.

Essam Attar, CEO of Ultimate-STC, explained that the agreement is designed to create a comprehensive digital platform covering all of SASM’s functions. The goal is to shift from conventional procedures to a fully integrated digital system serving employees, citizens, and companies.

“The project will help speed up transaction processing and ensure data protection and archiving using modern technologies, which enhances the reliability of the digital system and raises the efficiency of government work,” said Attar. He also highlighted that the platform will link SASM’s departments with other government entities to achieve institutional integration.
