Tatweer Misr Backs ConTech and CleanTech Startups With EGP 1.6 Million Prize Pool

Egyptian real estate giant Tatweer Misr has announced the winners of the seventh edition of its Innovation Competition, distributing EGP 1.6 million in prizes to three startups operating in construction, sustainability, and clean energy. The announcement was made at a ceremony held in Cairo’s historic Saladin Citadel.

The Winning Cohort

After seven finalists presented their solutions to a judging panel, three startups were selected for their innovative approaches to pressing industry challenges.

In the Ideation category, Nubrik secured an EGP 400,000 prize. The startup is developing solutions to recycle construction and demolition waste into environmentally friendly building materials, promoting circular economy principles in urban development. The prize also includes a specialized training program from Radwa Rostom, founder and CEO of Handover.

Two startups won in the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) category, each receiving EGP 600,000. Pro Tile is tackling waste from marble and granite production, transforming it into lightweight, high-efficiency exterior facades that improve thermal insulation and reduce building energy consumption.

Solar Sector is an AI-powered digital platform designed to help farmers transition to solar-powered irrigation systems. The platform assesses farmers’ needs, connects them with certified suppliers, and provides technical support, aiming to increase the adoption of clean energy in Egypt’s agricultural sector.

Fostering Innovation Beyond Capital

The competition, organized in partnership with the Egypt Entrepreneurship Awards (EEA), aims to provide more than just financial backing. Tatweer Misr emphasized that winners receive practical guidance, expert mentorship, and networking opportunities to help turn their ideas into scalable businesses, with potential for future collaboration.

“We believe at Tatweer Misr that innovation doesn’t start with ideas alone, but with the people capable of turning those ideas into solutions that create a real impact,” said Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, Co-founder, CEO, and Managing Director of Tatweer Misr. “We launched the Tatweer Misr Innovation Competition in 2017 not as a traditional contest, but as an integrated platform to discover innovators, empower entrepreneurs, and link promising ideas with real market application opportunities.”

The judging panel included Dr. Dina Sherif, Executive Director of the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity & Entrepreneurship; Ali Mokhtar, CEO of Beltone Venture Capital; and Dr. Mohamed Fahmy, Co-founder and CTO of iVolution AI by LOGIC.
