Abu Dhabi sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company has entered a strategic partnership with San Francisco-based AI compute platform Together AI, which will establish a local presence in the emirate.
The companies will explore opportunities spanning AI infrastructure and the UAE’s technology ecosystem. The announcement follows Mubadala’s $100 million investment in Together AI’s $800 million Series C round.
Founded in 2022, Together AI provides infrastructure for inference, model shaping and accelerated compute. Its platform is built around open-source and custom AI models, and the company said it supports more than one million developers worldwide.
The partnership is intended to support Abu Dhabi’s development of capabilities across the AI value chain, while bringing Together AI’s inference and research capabilities closer to developers in the region, according to the announcement.
Together AI has expanded its Gulf presence this year. In September, it announced a partnership with Saudi AI company HUMAIN to develop a 250-megawatt data centre. That deal followed the company’s Series C financing, which was led by Aramco Ventures and valued Together AI at $8.3 billion.
