Quick Facts
- Who: TrendAI, Trend Micro’s enterprise AI security business.
- What: Official launch in the United Arab Emirates.
- Why: To secure enterprises amid the UAE’s AI boom.
Tapping into the UAE’s AI Ambitions
TrendAI’s entry comes as the UAE accelerates its goal of becoming a global AI hub. The country, which was the first to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, is investing heavily in national AI initiatives. Industry estimates suggest that AI could contribute nearly 14% to the UAE’s GDP by 2030, an equivalent of approximately $96 billion.
This rapid adoption, however, introduces significant governance and security challenges. TrendAI’s launch is timed to support the country’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, aiming to provide a security framework for the burgeoning digital economy.
The Pressure to Deploy AI Outpaces Security
As organizations redesign their operations around AI, the attack surface is expanding. A recent global study by TrendAI, which surveyed 3,700 business and IT leaders, found that 67% of organizations have felt pressured to approve AI deployment despite security concerns. Another 57% stated that AI technology is advancing faster than their ability to secure it.
The research also highlights governance gaps, with over four in ten organizations identifying AI agents accessing sensitive data as their biggest emerging risk. Nearly a third of respondents admitted they lack proper observability or auditability over these complex systems.
“Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how organisations innovate and operate across the UAE,” said Salah Suleiman, Managing Director, South Gulf, TrendAI. “As businesses accelerate AI adoption to drive growth and competitiveness, security and governance must evolve at the same pace. TrendAI brings together our cybersecurity expertise and AI-driven capabilities to help enterprises innovate with confidence while maintaining full visibility and control over emerging AI risks.”
Building a Security Ecosystem with Frontier AI
To strengthen its defensive capabilities, TrendAI is deepening its collaboration with frontier AI companies. The company recently joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, an initiative that uses AI to help organizations identify and fix vulnerabilities in critical software. It is also a participant in Anthropic’s Cyber Verification Program, exploring how advanced reasoning can improve AI-assisted security operations.
The launch is further supported by an expanding partner ecosystem. This includes S-RM, a global cyber risk advisory firm, and a collaboration with HackerVerse to deliver independent adversarial testing using autonomous AI agents. These partnerships complement TrendAI’s core platform, TrendAI Vision One™, which is designed to centralize cyber risk exposure management for security teams.
