UAE-Based Remi Secures $135K Stellar Grant for Confidential Blockchain Settlements

Remi, a fintech company founded by Egyptians and headquartered in the UAE, has secured an approximately $135K grant from the Stellar Community Fund to develop confidential financial settlement infrastructure on the Stellar network.

The company said its solution will enable banks, exchange companies and payment service providers to execute and settle digital transactions without publicly revealing transfer values or account balances. It uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify transactions and compliance conditions without exposing sensitive financial data.

Remi is also developing a model for selective transparency, allowing authorised regulators to access specific information when necessary while keeping the full ledger private from unauthorised parties. The company said its infrastructure will enable financial institutions to use blockchain without directly holding cryptocurrencies, with Remi covering network fees on their behalf.

The grant will support open tools including dashboards, transaction management systems, a software development kit and indicators for transaction execution costs. According to the announcement, the funding will help move the project from testing and development toward live deployment on Stellar.

The initiative targets a key challenge in blockchain adoption by traditional financial institutions: combining verifiable transactions and regulatory oversight with stronger data confidentiality.
