The UAE-Lebanon Business Forum in Beirut has produced four memoranda of understanding and launched a joint business council aimed at expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
Held at the Seaside Arena, the forum brought together government officials and private-sector leaders, including an 80-member UAE delegation led by Foreign Trade Minister Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi. Discussions focused on infrastructure and reconstruction, investment partnerships and the role of the private sector.
The agreements include a framework for the Joint UAE-Lebanon Business Council, cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber, and two partnerships involving Elite Agro Holding. The latter cover food security, arid agriculture research, agritech innovation and greenhouse solutions.
The council’s first meeting followed the forum. Members discussed a work plan covering investment facilitation, sector-specific business forums and measures to reduce barriers to bilateral trade and investment.
The UAE delegation also held meetings with Lebanese officials on industrial development, digital transformation and the investment environment. Delegates represented sectors including logistics, agriculture, healthcare, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and tourism.
According to the announcement, bilateral non-oil trade reached $4.2B in 2025, up 35.6% from the previous year.
