UAE’s Paquik Launches Peer-to-Peer Shipping Platform With $85K Pre-Seed Funding

3 Min Read

Dubai-based startup Paquik has officially launched its peer-to-peer (P2P) shipping platform, aiming to disrupt the cross-border logistics sector with a sharing economy model. The launch is supported by a pre-seed funding round of $85,000 from angel investors, secured to fuel the platform’s initial growth, application development, and operational infrastructure.

An Asset-Light Approach to Logistics

Paquik’s model connects individuals needing to send items internationally with travelers who have unused space in their luggage. Instead of relying on a fleet of vehicles or warehouses, the platform functions as a digital layer that matches supply with demand, similar to ridesharing services but for international parcel delivery.

This asset-light strategy significantly reduces fixed costs and operational overhead, allowing the company to offer a more affordable and flexible shipping alternative. The core value proposition is the monetization of a previously untapped resource: empty luggage space.

Building Trust in the Sharing Economy

The primary challenge for a P2P platform is establishing trust between strangers. Paquik addresses this by embedding security and verification directly into its product. The company has implemented a multi-layered trust system that includes Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification for all users to mitigate risks.

Furthermore, an escrow payment system holds the sender’s payment until the recipient confirms successful delivery, protecting both parties financially. A comprehensive rating and review system helps build a user’s digital reputation, fostering a community of reliable senders and travelers.

Early Traction on the UAE-Egypt Corridor

Paquik has strategically chosen the UAE-Egypt travel corridor as its initial market. This route is characterized by high passenger traffic and a consistent demand for personal and small-scale shipping.

In its first few months of operation, the platform has demonstrated promising market validation, attracting over 17,000 registered users and generating more than $10,000 in initial revenue. While these early indicators are positive, the company plans to leverage this momentum for its planned expansion into other GCC countries in 2026.
