India-headquartered agricultural solutions company UPL Limited is set to acquire Egyptian seed company Misr Hytech Seed International through its Dubai-based Advanta Seeds business in a deal valued at approximately $110 million.

Advanta Holdings B.V., a Netherlands-based entity within UPL’s seeds platform, will acquire Hytech Egypt USA LLC, which controls Misr Hytech Seed International. Upon completion, Advanta is expected to hold a 99.98% stake in the Egyptian company.

The acquisition will strengthen Advanta’s position in white and yellow corn seeds across the Middle East and Africa. Hytech Egypt, which was incorporated in 1993, operates in the agricultural seeds sector and recorded turnover of about $34.9 million in FY2023, $37.6 million in FY2024 and $25.7 million in FY2025.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals from the COMESA Competition and Consumer Commission and the Egyptian Competition Authority. It is expected to close on or before January 31, 2027.
