Yemeni company Wasl Ecosystems will officially launch in October 2026 to build and develop entrepreneurship ecosystems in emerging and fragile markets, starting with Yemen.
The company aims to connect entrepreneurs with markets, institutions, expertise and capital. Its model goes beyond running training programs and events, focusing instead on startup programs, investment readiness, market research, institutional partnerships and ecosystem development.
Wasl Ecosystems will also operate Wasl Ventures, an initiative designed to help startups access growth opportunities, accreditation, financing and strategic partnerships, according to the announcement.
Co-founder Mohammed Alwasli said entrepreneurs in the region often face challenges that go beyond a lack of ideas or talent. These include weak connections between ecosystem stakeholders, limited access to markets and capital, and a lack of practical channels for collaboration between startups, companies, universities and investors.
The company said it will measure its impact through outcomes such as stronger founder capabilities, improved startup readiness for contracts and investment, better access to market data, and more reliable links between ecosystem participants.
Wasl Ecosystems said its team brings experience in ecosystem development, growth strategy, market research, institutional partnerships, investment and business model innovation. It plans to adapt its work to local market needs as it expands across the Middle East and other emerging regions.
