Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation, has successfully wrapped up Creative Labs, a two-week, studio-based training program where more than 30 students turned their innovative ideas into working prototypes. The program, which received over 160 applications, was designed to equip educators and students with creative, tech-enabled skills for the future.
By the Numbers
The program saw high engagement and produced a wide range of innovative solutions:
- 30+ Students: The number of high school and university students who participated in the two-week program.
- 160+ Applications: The number of applications received, showing a strong response from the community.
- 17 Prototypes: The number of working prototypes developed by the participants during the intensive journey.
A Hub for Impact-Driven Innovation
Hosted at QSTP and the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), the program brought students, educators, and industry partners together to tackle real-world challenges. Teams developed a range of solutions, including inclusive health wearables, playful furniture for the elderly, and biodegradable alternatives for single-use event items. Each project combined social purpose with emerging technology, encouraging participants to design solutions with impact.
“Creative Labs proves what is possible when curiosity and purpose come together,” said Hayfa Al-Abdulla, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Director at QSTP. “In our studios, educators and students are not just learning — they are inventing, prototyping, and building solutions the world needs, backed by Qatar’s leading innovation partners”.
A Partnership to Foster a Knowledge-Based Economy
The program was developed with NuVuX, a global leader in creative education, and delivered in partnership with the QSC and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE). Eng. Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis, Deputy Executive Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, said, “We take pride in our collaboration with QSTP… This partnership reflects our shared commitment to fostering research, innovation, and advancing Qatar’s knowledge-based economy”. The ideas developed hold the promise to impact the community and reinforce QSTP’s role as a global tech hub.
