The government of the UAE has deepened its strategic partnership with Indonesia by launching two significant initiatives aimed at talent development and government modernization. Announced during the Government Knowledge Exchange Forum in Jakarta, the programs include the “10 Million Indonesian Coders” initiative and an Executive Leaders Programme, part of the UAE’s ongoing Government Experience Exchange Programme.
Cultivating Global Tech Talent
The “10 Million Indonesian Coders” initiative is a landmark project designed to equip Indonesian youth with essential digital and coding skills for the modern economy. The program aims to enhance their future-readiness, enable effective participation in the global digital economy, and unlock new opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship, exporting a successful talent development model pioneered by the UAE.
Modernizing Government Leadership
Alongside the coding initiative, the partnership launched the Executive Leadership Programme for the Indonesian government. The program is designed to build the capacity of 23 senior government leaders by sharing the UAE’s experience in government modernization. Key themes include the role of digital transformation in enhancing performance, agile leadership, policy and performance management, and future foresight.
A Model for Knowledge Partnerships
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, affirmed that these initiatives reflect the UAE’s model for global knowledge partnerships focused on capacity building and future-readiness. He emphasized that developing government leadership and coding communities are fundamental pillars of the UAE’s international collaborations, embodying a vision of creating innovative cooperation models to shape the future.
