The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has entered into a tripartite agreement to establish a new artificial intelligence center of excellence. The partnership with the consortium of ASAS for Developing and Operating Industrial Cities and Takween IT aims to accelerate digital transformation and develop advanced AI applications across the Kingdom’s industrial sector.
Accelerating Industrial Modernization
The new center is designed to be a hub for innovation, providing advanced solutions and services to support both MODON’s strategic plans and the goals of investors in its industrial cities. Key objectives include modernizing business models, streamlining administrative processes, and significantly enhancing operational efficiency. By ensuring compliance with best practices and international standards, the center will also work to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation in AI technologies among the more than 8,000 industrial establishments operating within MODON’s ecosystem.
A Strategic Pillar of Vision 2030
This initiative is a core component of MODON’s broader strategy to drive the adoption of modern technologies within the industrial sector. It aligns directly with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy and the overarching Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritize the development of a robust digital economy and aim to increase the global competitiveness of the Kingdom’s industries. The AI center builds upon MODON’s existing digital offerings, which include the “Indeal” platform for secure technology solutions, an open data platform for industrial research, and specialized consultations on Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
