In a significant move for the Kingdom’s technology sector, US-based AI semiconductor innovator MemryX is set to open a new office in Riyadh in October 2025. The expansion marks a major validation of Saudi Arabia’s investment strategy and strengthens its ambition to become a key player in the global semiconductor landscape through the National Semiconductor Hub.
Deepening Strategic Ties
The new Riyadh office represents a substantial commitment from MemryX, extending beyond a mere physical presence. The company is establishing in-country development and customer engineering teams, with its General Manager and Vice President of Business Development to be permanently based in Saudi Arabia. In a landmark decision underscoring the Kingdom’s growing importance, MemryX will also host its Global Board Meeting in Riyadh for the first time in late October.
Building On NEOM Partnership
This expansion builds upon a strategic partnership established earlier in the year. In May 2025, the NEOM Investment Fund (NIF) announced a significant investment in MemryX. The collaboration is focused on deploying the chipmaker’s energy-efficient MX3 edge AI accelerators to power the intelligent digital infrastructure within the futuristic city of NEOM. This technology is critical for processing vast amounts of data locally, reducing the dependency on large, centralized data centers.
Bolstering The National Semiconductor Hub
MemryX’s decision to establish a substantial operation makes it one of the first global semiconductor companies to do so in Saudi Arabia, providing a major boost to the nation’s strategic goals. The company is actively integrating into the local ecosystem by participating in the upcoming Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference and sponsoring the Saudi AI & Edge Computing Hackathon at Prince Sultan University to help foster local talent.
