The Digital Economy and Technology Division of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce has announced that 34 Egyptian startups will participate in Web Summit 2025. The delegation will be featured within a dedicated Egyptian Pavilion at the major global technology conference, scheduled to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from November 10-13.

This marks the sixth consecutive year of Egypt’s official participation, a collaborative effort between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Digital Economy Division since the inaugural pavilion in 2019. The initiative aims to bolster the international competitiveness of Egyptian startups, showcase local innovation, and attract foreign investment into the nation’s rapidly growing ICT sector.

A Strategic Platform for Global Exposure

Web Summit is one of the world’s most prominent technology events, gathering over 70,000 participants from 160 countries and featuring more than 1,000 industry-leading speakers. For the Egyptian delegation, it serves as a critical platform to present their solutions to a global audience of investors, potential partners, and enterprise clients.

Engineer Khalil Hassan Khalil, Head of the Digital Economy and Technology Division, stated that the participation underscores the growing prominence of Egyptian companies on the international tech stage. He highlighted the event as a strategic opportunity to share Egyptian success stories in high-growth fields such as artificial intelligence, fintech, digital sustainability solutions, and digital transformation. Startups will also have the chance to engage in international competitions like PITCH, which offers significant funding and investment opportunities.

Largest Delegation Highlights Growing Ambition

This year’s Egyptian pavilion is set to be the largest and most impactful since the country’s first official participation. According to Khalil, the selected companies represent the forefront of Egyptian innovation, offering advanced technological products and services capable of competing on a global scale. The increased size of the delegation reflects the maturity and expansion of the local startup ecosystem.

Ahmed El Wakil, President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, noted that this participation is part of the state’s broader commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. He praised the vital role of ITIDA and the Digital Economy Division in enabling Egyptian companies to access new markets and build international collaborations. El Wakil added that such events reinforce global confidence in the capabilities of Egyptian talent, solidifying their position as active contributors to the global digital economy.
