Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC), recently concluded its 4th Annual Digital Transformation Summit, solidifying its position at the forefront of the region’s technological evolution. Held under the theme ‘AI-Driven Sustainable Innovation,’ the event convened over 300 senior executives, CIOs, and government decision-makers to explore the strategic impact of artificial intelligence on the UAE’s digital economy.

In his opening remarks, Mohammad Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, highlighted the critical role of AI in the nation’s future. “AI is no longer just a tool, it is a strategic driver of national competitiveness and sustainability,” he stated. “Through the Digital Transformation Summit, Moro Hub is strengthening dialogue around responsible innovation and building ecosystems that will shape the UAE’s digital economy for decades to come.”

A Convergence of Regional Tech Leaders

Organized in collaboration with the International Data Corporation (IDC), the summit served as a pivotal platform for dialogue among senior representatives from leading public and private institutions across the Middle East. The discussions were framed by significant projections from IDC, which forecasts that spending on digital transformation across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) will surpass USD 59 billion in 2025.

With the UAE expected to generate nearly 14% of its GDP (USD 96 billion) from AI-driven activities by 2030, the summit’s conversations focused on practical pathways to scale AI responsibly across critical sectors like government, utilities, finance, and manufacturing.

Unveiling New AI-Powered Offerings

A key highlight of the event was the announcement of three major service launches by Moro Hub, each designed to accelerate AI-powered digital transformation in the region. The new offerings include:

  • GPU-as-a-Service and Inferencing-as-a-Service: Providing the high-performance computing infrastructure necessary for demanding AI workloads.
  • The Moro Hub Smart Office: A solution leveraging AI and IoT to create intelligent and collaborative hybrid work environments.
  • The IPSP AI Video Analytics Platform: An advanced platform for enhancing safety and operational efficiency through intelligent video analysis.

Expert Insights on the Agentic AI Era

The summit featured a series of in-depth sessions led by Moro Hub executives and global technology experts. Ranjit Rajan, Vice President at IDC, delivered a keynote address on the ‘CIO Playbook for the Agentic AI Era,’ outlining how AI is evolving from a support tool to an autonomous collaborator.

Sujit Nair, Director of Data Center, Cloud and Digital Products at Moro Hub, discussed the rise of sovereign cloud and the need for regionally governed digital infrastructure. Other sessions explored the balance between AI innovation and security, the creation of smart and safe cities, and the integration of AI in modern enterprises, with contributions from specialists at Cisco and Dell Technologies.

From Strategy to ROI

A high-level panel discussion brought together leaders from the Digital Dubai Authority (DDA), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Dubai Police to address how organizations can translate AI investments into tangible business value. The conversation navigated critical topics such as AI regulation, data ethics, generative AI governance, and cloud resilience, underscoring the collaborative effort required to build a trusted digital ecosystem.

The event was supported by a prominent lineup of global partners, including Dell Technologies, Red Hat, SER Group, Cisco, Mindware & NVIDIA, Johnson Controls, and Ingram Micro, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the UAE’s digital economy.
