HUMAIN And Qualcomm To Open AI Engineering Centre In Riyadh

3 Min Read

HUMAIN, Saudi Arabia’s national AI company, and US-based wireless technology leader Qualcomm Technologies Inc. have announced plans to launch a new Qualcomm AI Engineering Centre in Riyadh. This move is set to significantly bolster the Kingdom’s growing AI infrastructure and ecosystem.

The new centre, scheduled to open in December 2025, will be co-located with HUMAIN in the Saudi capital. Its primary goal is to support the rollout of 200 megawatts of data centre capacity, built on Qualcomm’s advanced Cloud AI solutions, which is expected to begin in 2026.

Accelerating Saudi Arabia’s AI Ambitions

The engineering centre will establish a direct technical presence for Qualcomm within Saudi Arabia’s emerging AI landscape, signaling a deep commitment to supporting local infrastructure beyond merely supplying hardware.

It will provide a comprehensive suite of advanced AI engineering capabilities designed to accelerate the development and deployment of fully optimised edge-to-cloud services. These services include customer engineering to scale best-in-class AI solutions, AI model onboarding, technology and ecosystem development, and extensive AI training programmes. This initiative directly supports Saudi Arabia’s strategic vision to establish itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence.

A Strategic Co-Location

By situating the facility with HUMAIN, the partnership ensures close integration and accelerates the time-to-market for advanced services based on Qualcomm’s AI solutions. This hub will streamline the deployment of cutting-edge data centre capacity and AI solutions, benefiting customers across the Kingdom, including major players like Saudi Aramco.

This announcement builds on a previous collaboration between the two companies aimed at deploying advanced AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The partnership combines Qualcomm’s four decades of leadership in intelligent computing with HUMAIN’s full-stack AI capabilities.

Leveraging Advanced AI Infrastructure

The infrastructure will be powered by Qualcomm’s state-of-the-art Cloud AI hardware and software. This includes the Qualcomm AI200 and AI250 rack solutions, which are specifically designed for data centre deployment and support AI inference workloads at scale across a wide range of applications and use cases.

The collaboration represents a powerful fusion of expertise, poised to deliver high-performance AI inference services with industry-leading efficiency and total cost of ownership, both within the Kingdom and globally.
